- 26.10.2008: A very nice surprise was the following visitor at Luxembour Airport. The Orient Thai Boeing 747-200 arrived at 10.10 (local). This is one of two Boeing 747-200 that MK Airlines bought from Orient Thai. It stayed in Luxembourg for about two hours before leaving again to Bristol/Filton for delivery.
On 24th September the Tesis Boeing 747-200 VP-BXE arrived in Luxembourg. Standing at the maintenance hangar it received two days ago its new registration. VP-BXE has been bought back by Air Atlanta Icelandic and wears now the reigstration TF-ARL again.

- 25.09.2008: This afternoon a ferry flight (Blue Berry 548P) from Nuremberg was operated by Blue Line. The aicraft used was F-GMLX, the 4th and newest MD-83 of the fleet, added in April 2008. The McDonnell Douglas is currently standing at P1.
- 24.09.2008: Surprise Surprise! As if one Tesis 747-200 wasn't enough, a second one landed this afternoon in Luxembourg. VP-BXE arrived as TIS9717 at 15:25 (local). The Boeing went straight to P7, but the day after it stood next to VP-BXC at Cargolux maintenance. Now we just need the third one (VP-BXD) here at ELLX.
- 19.09.2008: On 14th September a McDonnell Douglas DC-10-30F arrived as CIU4851 to Cargolux Maintenance. N833LA (converted to DC-10-30F on 01.08.2000)
left again on 18th at 17:05 (local) to Malmö. Both flights were without freight. N833LA is operated by Cielos Cargo.
- 04.09.2008: An interesting charter flight arrived at LUX this evening with the Greek Football team on board. The Astra BAe Avro, SX-DIZ, arrived from Athens around 19:15 (flight ZS614) and departed empty to Thessaloniki.
- 03.09.2008: Transaero announced yesterday that on 29th September it will operate its last flight from Luxembourg to Moscow. The route LUX-DME (flights UN329 / UN330) will be cancelled due tu the high fuel prices.

- 21.08.2008: Luxair has announced that the order for a new Boeing 737-800 (replacing the Boeing 737-500,LX-LGP) has been put on hold due to the high fuel costs and the financial situation.
- 12.07.2008: The first photos of the new Cargolux Boeing 747-400, LX-YCV, have been posted on the Internet. The 747 has been spotted on the Paine Field (Snohomish County Airport, USA). LX-YCV should arrive in Luxembourg during the next week.

Journées de la Défense" are online. This event (5th & 6th July) was held at the Florennes Air Force Base in Belgium. A Spotter's Day was organized on Friday 4th July with spotter positions next to the runway and taxiway. --

- 30.06.2008: Photos of the Luxembourg Air Show at Bitburg airfield are online. The Air Show was organized on 28th & 29th June with a spotter's programm including priviledged positions next to the runway and on the terrasse of the tower building. --

- 23.06.2008: Looks like MK Airlines is back on track. On 20th June MK flights between Ostende and Luxembourg have resumed and a deal between investors has been reached. Today 3 MK 747 (G-MKBA, G-MKHA, G-MK?A) were present at ELLX. The flights have been operated as "MKA" and not "BGB".
- 13.06.2008: No big news in the last 3 days. The aicrafts are still grounded, but there seem to be some discussions between investors. Maybe more after the weekend.
- 10.06.2008: There seems to be a big and dark cloud hanging over MK Airlines future. Since this morning all MK aircraft have been grounded in Luxembourg and Ostende. Slowly news are emerging that MK Airlines closed its doors due to financial problems (no details known yet). Apparantly MK administration has closed its books. In the evening both MK Boeing grounded here at ELLX were ferried to Ostende, and stored there. G-MKHA left Luxembourg using their registration as callsign. G-MKDA was due to leave too, but the flight was cancelled.
Let's wait for an official statement.
- 24.05.2008: 4 F-16's from Spangdahlem Air Force Base (Germany) were over Luxembourg for a fly-by on a commemoration (detail unknown).
- 21.05.2008: 05:56 in the morning. LX-LGS departed from Luxembourg to Palma de Mallorca (Flight LG601) the first passengers using the new Terminal. At 06:10, LX-LGR took of to Malaga (Flight LG663).
Since yesterday evening, after the last inbound flight (LG898 from Chania/Heraklion) at 00:05 (STA 22:40), the old Terminal closed its doors after more than 30 years of service.
- 18.05.2008: The holiday charters were back as the holidays are over now. The flights from Venice to Luxembourg were operated by a Travel Service Hungary Boeing 737-800 HA-LKB (flights QS 157 & QS 158) and a Hello McDonnell Douglas MD-90, HB-JIB (flights FHE 6929 & FHE 6931).
- 13.05.2008: For some days now Atlantic Airways uses their ATP G-BUUR instead of G-BTPE between Leipzig and Luxembourg.
- 11.05.2008: Today several charter operated 4 flights between Luxembourg and Venice for the holidays. Present were Hello (2 flights: FHE 6924 & FHE 6926) and Travel Service
(2 flights: QS156 & QS157). Hello used a MD-90 (HB-JIE) and Travel Service used their Boeing 737-800 (OK-TVD) with the Prague Airport special livery.
Another special flight was an Avanti Air ATR 42-300 (D-BCRN) from Berlin Tempelhof (flight ATV 652). The ATR has a sticker behind the back door reading: "Operated on Behalf of Meridiana".
The biggest surprise of today was the United States Air Force (USAF) Boeing C-32. The all white aircraft (02-4452) with the callsign "MEGA71" arrived at 10:23 and is still parked at P1. This aircraft belongs to the US Air Force's 486th FLTS Eglin AFB, Florida and is operated by the US State Department Foreign Emergency Support Team.

In addition an Amercian chopper was present. 87-24583, a US Army Sikorsky UH-60A Blackhawk made a short stop in Luxembourg.
- 26.04.2008: Apart from the big Opening Event and the Open Days some interesting movements have been noted the last days.
During the Opening Ceremony a DC-3 landed in Luxembourg for a night stop. The aircraft in question was N473DC. Rare to see a DC-3 in Luxembourg.
On 26th April a Kroonk Air Antonov An-26 (UR-KVI) and a Sun Adria Fokker 100 (9A-BTE) were present.
- 20.04.2008: A Futura Boeing 737-800 was on a Charter Flight from Luxembourg to Palma. EC-JRL was operated by Luxair.
- 13.04.2008: At 16:05 (local) a Boeing 767-300 in full Primera colors left Luxembourg for Amsterdam on flight FI8823. The aircraft was flying for JetX, on a wet lease from Icelandair during winter season 2007. TF-LLA was in Luxembourg for some engine maintenance and is now in Amsterdam where it will get its new Air Niugini color scheme and the new registration P2-AHA.
For the evening flight to Copenhagen, Cimber Air (with SAS logo) used their brandnew Canadair Regional Jet CRJ-100, OY-RJI, which was delivered on 12.03.2008.
- 01.04.2008: Since 31.03.2008 DHL operates a daily flight from Leipzig to Luxembourg. The aircraft used is Atlantic Airlines' BAe ATP, G-BTPE.
Luxair LX-LGL (ERJ-135) has been repainted. It will not be sold and stays with the Luxair fleet. The "900th Embraer" logo has not been conserved.
- 30.03.2008: Starting of today, KLM will operate one morning flight (ETA: 10:05 - flight KL1793 / ETD: 10:45 - flight KL1740) with a Fokker 70. PH-KZC was the first one arriving this morning.
- 26.03.2008: As announced by Luxairport the new Terminal will be put into service on 21st May 2008. Innauguration will be as planned on 25th April. The Terminal will be put into service on 21st May 2008.
- 08.03.2008: Technical problems on the MK afternoon flight from Ostende to Luxembourg. Apparantely the main gear didn't retract after departing at Ostende and during the landing at Luxembourg Airport the crew wasn't sure if the gear was correctly fixed. G-MKDA landed safely at 16:40 (local)
- 21.02.2008: This afternoon at 15:15 local, a very special visitor arrived at Luxembourg Airport. An African International McDonnell Douglas DC-8 (ZS-OSI) arrived for a mainteance check due to a main gear problem. The aircraft is currently parken on P3 (in the hangar) and is scheduled for departure tomorrow (22.02) around 15:00 in the afternoon.

- 19.02.2008: Starting in January 2008, Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) is upgrading its fleet. Currently the fleet is composed of 4 McDonnell Douglas MD-900 Explorer. Due to European rules every helicopter used for medical purpose (HEMS = Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) has to be upgraded to a class 1 by the end of the year 2008. LAR has approved 2,5 million euros for a fleet upgrade, concerning an upgrade from MD-900 to MD-902 helicopters. MD-902 have more powerful engines and a separated fuel compartment.
The first helicopter has been upgraded in January, the second will pass in September 2008 and the third one in December 2008 (LX-HMD, LX-HMS, LX-HPG). LX-HRC is already a type MD-902.
- 31.01.2008: Tomorrow (01.02.2008) will be the official Opening of the new General Aviation Terminal.
On
25th April 2008, the official opening of the new Passenger Terminal will be celebrated. On 26th and 27th there will be public "Open Days". During the week after the opening final test will be made and very soon afterwards the Terminal should be operational.
- 24.01.2008: As Luxair presented their report 2007, they announced that the fleet will not be further reduced. The 2 Embraer ERJ-135 (LX-LGK & LX-LGL) and the Boeing 737-500 (LX-LGP) will not be sold and stay with Luxair. The fleet counts 15 aircrafts.
- 21.01.2008: The all white Cargolux Boeing 747-400, LX-PCV is now wearing a "Silk Way" Sticker. It will operate the flight LUX-GYD (Baku, Azerbaijan) and replacing Air Atlanta TF-AMO, which now wears again the "Operating for Cargolux" sticker.
Special Visitor Today: A Chinese Minister and his delegation arrived for a 3 day visit in Luxembourg. The Boeing 767-300, B-2469 (flight Air China 2469) arrived this morning at 11:00 local. The Minister will stay until Wednesday 23.01 before joining the World Economic Meeting in Davos.
The aircraft is currently parked at the Swissport Hangar.

- 20.01.2008: Around 15:10 this Swiftair McDonnell Douglas MD-83 (EC-KCX) from Barcelona arrived in Luxembourg. This unusual visitor stayed the night at the airport.
