- 20.12.2009: During heavy snowfalls all across Europe, many airports including Brussels and Amsterdam were closed on Sunday morning. Great news for Luxembourg Spotters because some flights were diverted to LUX:

During midday, Luxembourg Airport was closed for at least 50 minutes for snow removal. Looking at the actual weather conditions, 50 minutes is very optimistic. Currently theairport is still closed (13:50)
- 14.11.2009: Lot of Cargo traffic today, including Southern Air, Atlas Air and Yangtze River Express. But most interesting was the. But most interesting was the aircraft below. A World MD-11, N276WA arriving around 2 o'clock as APW0872.
- 10.11.2009: Luxair has bought a Boeing 737-800. LX-LGT was owned by TuiFly as D-AHFN. It was seen some weeks ago arriving at Shannon Airport for repainting and on 13th November it was first photographed in Luxair colors. On the same day it was ferried to Hannover and is now waiting to be handed over to Luxair, which should be done on
19th November.

- 22.08.2009: British Global (MK Airlines) received its newest Boeing 747-200, G-MKLA. The ex. Malaysia Airlines TF-ATX (sn: 23711/672) was added on 1st September 2009 to the BGB fleet.
- 22.08.2009: Cargolux LX-ICV (sn: 25632/968) is getting ready in front of the maintenance Hangar to be delivered to UPS. This is the second Boeing 747-400 leaving the Cargolux fleet and being sold to UPS. The third one will be LX-LCV.

- 05.09.2009: As reported at the end of August by several Spotters, the Cargolux Boeing 747-400 LX-FCV has been seen in the new maintenance Hangar without titles and tail logo and with the new UPS registration: N581UP.
On Friday 4th September, around 9:00, the 16 years old Boeing 747-4R7F (sn: 25866/1002), named “City Of Luxembourg”, left Luxembourg for the last time. N581UP left as UPS 9130 to Bangor and then to Roswell.
This Boeing, the first one for Cargolux arrived in Luxembourg on 18th November 1993, the first Boeing 747-400 delivered to Cargolux.
During 2007 Cargolux decided to sell 3 Boeing 747-400 to UPS. LX-FCV was the first one to leave the fleet. LX-ICV and LX-LCV will be the next 2 to leave in 2009.

- 20.05.2009: Last TLP Spotter's Day at Florennes Air Force Base. The last TLP is going on until 29th May. TLP Flying Session 2009-4 (Nov-Dec) will be held at its new base in Albacete (Spain).

- 15.05.2009: Big event at Luxembourg Airport. Emergency Situation Training as a Boeing 737-500 has hit, during landing, a Learjet on the runway: SIS Exercise 2009

- 10.05.2009: Starting tomorrow, 11th May 2009, Cargolux will finally start moving to the new maintenance Hangar. They will nee a week to set up everything, so that on 18th May first tests will begin. The first big C-Check will take place from 1st to 10th July with Cargolux LX-ICV.

- 09.05.2009: Today Cargolux LX-KCV left Luxembourg Airport with new Cargolux Italia Titles. The Boeing 747-400 is now operated by Cargolux Italia, a subsidiary of Cargolux International Airlines. In June/July, during the C-Check, LX-KCV should receive a revised color scheme with some green lines, and an Italian registration.
- 21.04.2009: With their recently acquired McDonnell Douglas MD-11F, ET-AML (ex. PT-MSI), Ethiopian Cargo started a flight schedule from Luxembourg to Pointe Noir (D.R. Congo). First flight was operated on Monday, 23rd March, and is scheduled to operate a flight once a week on Monday. Arrival and Departure on Monday afternoon (ETA and ETD varies).

- 20.03.2009: Big highlight of the month. 2 Sikorsky 76C were transported to Luxembourg last night and put together at the Cargocenter. The two Malaysian helicopters, 9M-STB and 9M-STD were almost complete this evening and put onto Parking P2. They should leave during the next days to Algeria and be operated by an oil firm.
- 18.03.2009: Today's surprising vsitor was an Piaggio Avanti P-180 of the Italian Air Force (MM62207, sn:1096).
- 17.03.2009: Cargolux Boeing 747-400, LX-GCV, made a wrong turn after landing at Maastricht Airport and got stuck with the front wheel in the mud. The Boeing blocked the airport runway for almost 4 hours, causing massive pertubations in the traffic. No damage was reported.

- 07.02.2009: TF-ARM, Air Atlanta Boeing 747-200 departed today, in full Saudi Arabian Colors to Brussels.

As a second surprise this Evergreen Boeing 747-200, N488EV, was diverted from Frankfurt Hahn to Luxembourg. Some time later a second Evergreen (N487EV) was also diverted to Luxembourg.

- 24.01.2009: Luxair Boeing 737-700 LX-LGQ is back from maintenance and repainting (as of 23.01.2009) and wears now the new Luxair colors. It started operations on 24th January as first morning flight to FRA.
- 20.01.2009: As of 15th January the ATIS Frequency of Luxembourg Airport has changed. The old frequency 135.550 has been replaced by 134.750.
