- 07.12.2006: Luxair LX-LGO has been SOLD. The first step in Luxair's "Building A New Airline" has been completed. It is sold to Jordan Aviation. Today JY-JA1 (ex. LX-LGO) left Luxembourg Airport for the last time as "Jordan Aviation 3322". The Boeing 737-5C9, named "Château de Clervaux", was delivered to Luxair on 8th January 1993. It was the oldest aircraft of the actual Luxair fleet. The last weeks it was standing in the Luxair Hangar where its LX registration has been removed and replaced by the new one.
There are now 14 aircrafts in the fleet. Until May 2007 Luxair plans to sell their 2 Embraer ERJ-135 (LX-LGK & LX-LGL) and 2 Embraer ERJ-145. They will be replaced by 3 new Bombardier Dash Q400. Delivery starts on April 2007.

- 18.11.2006: D-AHIG, the first Boeing 737-300 with winglets for Hamburg International landed this evening. In adition a passenger flight was operated by Orionair, with an Avro 146-300, EC-JVO.
- 16.11.2006: On 07.12.2006 Transaero will open a new route between Luxembourg and Moscow Domodedovo. Once a week, on Thursday, flight UN 329/330 will be operated by a Boeing 737 (-300 or -400). Arrival in Luxembourg is planned at 14:05 and departure at 15:05. (Local Times)
- 28.10.2006: Last flight of a Czech Airlines in Luxembourg. Flight OK641 to Prague departed at 2:45pm. The flight was operated by an ATR-42-500, OK-JFK.

- 20.10.2006: New Event: Visit of the new Luxair Cargocenter construction site.
- 20.10.2006: Sad news appeared today in the newspaper "Lëtzebuerger Wort". As of 29th October 2006, Czech Airlines (CSA) will definitely stop their connection between Luxembourg and Prague. CSA operated one flight a day, 7 days a week, flight OK641 (Luxembourg -> Prague) and OK640 (Prague -> Luxembourg). They used their ATR-42 for those flight.

- 08.10.2006: Memorial Ceremony in Kehlen with a Fly-Over of 2 US Air Force Fairchild Thunderbolt II based at Spangdahlem Air Force Base, Germany.

- 30.09.2006: First time China Cargo operates a flight with a Boeing 747-400F, B-2425. They usually use McDonnell Douglas MD-11F.
- 22.09.2006: LX-FCV, the oldest aircraft of the Cargolux fleet, arrived today at Luxembourg Airport in the new Cargolux livery.

- 20.09.2006: The first Antonov An-124-100 Ruslan, operated by Antonov Design Bureau, of the autumn cargo season arrived this moring at Luxembourg Airport.
- 14.09.2006: Today Thomas Cook operated a charter flight for Brindabella Airlines from Luxembourg to Zurich.

- 25.07.2006: At 23.30 local time a MK Airline Boeing 747-200, had to do an emergency landing. Seconds after take-off one engine caught fire. Emergency procedures were put into place and the Jumbo safely landed back at Luxembourg Airport. Nobody was injured.
- 19.07.2006: As mentioned in a communication by Cargolux, the Luxembourg based all Cargo Airline will sell 2 Boeing 747-400F. This will be the first step in preparing the fleet for the new Boeing 747-8F arriving in 2009.
- 12.07.2006: Constructions of the new radardome are in full progress. Four specialists from Italy, specialised in the construction of radardomes, have arrived in Luxembourg and will be working at the dome until August 2006. The tower has a height of 42,5m an the dome itself is 14m wide an 12m high. It is composed of 176 big and 25 small panels, hold together by some 10'000 screws. When finished the dome will protect a 1 million euro expensive radar. This type of radar in Luxembourg is the first ever used one for a civilian airport. It will replace the old radar in December 2006.

- 13.06.2006: Today it has become official: Luxair has chosen Bombardier Dash Q 400 as new aicraft type for its fleet. Between April 2007 and September 2007, 3 new Dash will arrive in the colors of Luxair. The Company has an option 3 more aircraft. The Dash 400 has a capacity of 72 seets an travels 700km/h fast.
Furthermore, Luxair is considering a reduction of its current fleet. 2 Embraer ERJ-135 (LX-LGK, LX-LGL), 2 Embraer ERJ-145 and 1 Boeing 737-500 will leave the fleet. When they leave is not known yet.
- 04.06.2006: Condor and DAB operated today several holiday flights to Genua for a well known mediterranean cruise in Luxembourg ("Päischtcroisière"). With Hamburg International a total of 4 flights were scheduled.
- 31.05.2006: An incident occured on Monday 29. May at Luxembourg Airport. During the parking of two Boeing 737-700 (LX-LGQ and LX-LGS), the two machines touched each other with their left (LX-LGQ) respectively right (LX-LGS) winglet. Both winglet are destroyed. The two machines were grounded for some hours, but Luxair technicians transfered the intact winglet from one airplane onto the second airplane, wich has resumed regular flights. The second Boeing is still in the hangar. Price: 250'000€ per winglet. Nobody was injured.

- 28.04.2006: Titan G-ZAPU, City Airline SE-RAB and Hello HB-JIA were scheduled today.
- 19.04.2006: Turkish Air Force Transall C-160 landed today at ELLX.
- 07.04.2006: New Citation LX-GDX for Luxaviation is standing at P5 and awaiting it's official introduction to the fleet next week.

07.04.2006: Luxembourg Air Rescue (LAR) received today it's new Learjet 35. Arriving from Switzerland, it landed about 16:15 (local) at the airport. The airplane is still registered under N628GZ. It's final registration will be LX-TWO. After LX-ONE and LX-LAR this is the third Learjet 35 for LAR.

- 07.04.2006: As written in the newspaper of today, Luxair might sell 2 of their Boeing 737-500 (LX-LGO and LX-LGP) and 1 Embraer. The 3 aircraft will be replaced by either Bombardier Q400, ATR 72-500 or Embraer 170/190. Seems that Luxair is going back to Turboprops.
- 06.04.2006: Sad news for Luxembourg's spotters, as a new fence was put in place this afternoon on a famous spotting site near the Tower.

- 04.04.2006: Luxair - "Building A New Airline". Restructuration of the fleet: As announced some days ago Luxair is considering the introduction of an aircraft type with 70 to 90 seats and has therefore asked for price offers with constructors such as ATR, Bombardier and Embraer.
At the moment, an option considering a fleet composed of 12 aircraft (instead of 15, as today) is being finalized and the final decision will be taken at the beginning of May 2006.
In addition there will be, a reduction in staff numbers, freezing of salaries, and a reduced number of Luxair destinations. Planned too, is an e-ticketing service.
Luxair trusts that by 2008, the project “Building a new Airline” will be implemented successfully.
